LIBRARY RESEARCH WEEK 2015
The third Library Research Week will be presented during the week of 11-15 May, with the theme Secure your Research Footprint. Lunch hour lectures, workshops, and a Research Commons Social Hour will be presented. The aim of the event is to develop the skills and knowledge of emerging Stellenbosch University researchers and postgraduate students and to equip them with practical knowledge of measuring research impact, building their online presence and making them aware of the use of researcher identifiers.
Some of the highlights of the programme include a talk by Prof Johann Mouton, Director, Centre for Research on Evaluation, Science and Technology (CREST), about the use, possibilities and pitfalls of bibliometrics (Wednesday 13 May) and a talk by Laurel Haak, Executive Director of ORCID (Friday 15 May).
