WORKSHOP - HOW TO PUBLISH YOUR RESEARCH

                                                                                       Sien Afrikaans onder

The Library and Information Service offers training to students and researchers on a regular basis throughout the academic year. These training sessions help students become skilled in finding academic information and teach them research skills in order to improve the quality of academic assignments and to create greater awareness of plagiarism. The Library Training and Events Calendar provides information on sessions and an opportunity to register for a session.

During April and May several training sessions will be on offer, but we want to highlight the session on 21 May 2014, “Making important decisions about publishing your research”.

This workshop, which was developed last year, is a hands-on session  that looks at important factors to help you decide where to publish your research and covers the following: article types and features of a good journal; the South African research outputs accreditation system; citation indicators currently used to evaluate journal performance; open access and hybrid options for publication; unique author identification; co-authorship and the order of author names.

The session takes place on Wednesday
21 May,from 8:30 to 13:00 in the
E-classroom (JS Gericke Library). It will be presented by Naomi Visser and Dalene Pieterse and is aimed at postgraduate students and researchers.
Please register here.

Registreer asseblief hier.
