From 30-31 October the Library Service will present a symposium for librarians, information professionals, educators and publishers.

The title of the 2003 Symposium is The Cost of Information: Who Pays the Ferryman?

Papers will be delivered by a  range of national and international speakers: e.g. Ms Madeleine McPherson, University of Southern Queensland, Australia; Mr John Tsebe, University of the North and Prof Derek Law, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. An introduction will be delivered by Prof Estian Calitz, Executive Director of Finance at the University of Stellenbosch and the keynote address will be by Prof Michael Chanowski of Medialab, the Netherlands. The titel of his lecture will be: "Information access in the virtual scientific environment."
