​​​​​Electronic resources the Library pays for

In terms of the license agreements governing the electronic resources that the Library subscribes to, access to these resources is restricted to Stellenbosch University staff members and currently registered students. It is therefore important that users identify themselves as legitimate SU users before they will be allowed to access a resource.

Do a Library Search on the library website or choose E-Databases or E-Journals from the FIND menu. When off-campus and prompted to sign-on, log in with your SU username (not email address) and password. See how to do a library search here.

SU e-application process

If you are not a registered Stellenbosch University student or staff member with your own SU username and password, see the SU user e-application options to follow for access to electronic services on the SU campus (and off-campus).

Postgraduate students

Please submit your postgraduate student application through the University's application system (SUNStudent applicant portal). This proces​s is handled by the University's Admission Office. ​

SU staff / external workers

Should you find yourself at the University as an staff member / external worker without your own SU username and password, please consult with your departmental secretary to complete an ​Identity record on S​​UNiD and create a SU ​username, which is handled by the Information Technology Division of the University.
Enquiries regarding your SU username can be directed to your departmental secretary.

Once abovementioned process is done, you will gain access to the subscription e-resources and your library account to, renew your books online,​ on the library website with your SU username and password.

Pensioners

Due to licensing agreements, access to the library's subscription e-resources is restricted to currently registered students and staff members of Stellenbosch University.

Elektroniese bronne waarvoor die Biblioteek betaal

As gevolg van lisensie-ooreenkomste is toegang tot die elektroniese bronne waarop die biblioteek inteken beperk tot studente en personeel wat tans by die Universiteit Stellenbosch geregistreer is. Dit is daarom belangrik dat gebruikers hulself as wettige US-gebruikers identifiseer voordat hul toegang tot 'n hulpbron sal kry.

Soek biblioteekbronne op die biblioteek se webblad of kies E-Databassise of E-Artikels vanaf die VIND-spyskaart. Wanneer jy afkampus is en gevra word om aan te teken (Sign-On), teken aan met jou US-gebruikersnaam (nie e-pos adres nie) en wagwoord. Sien Hoe om biblioteekbronne te soek.

US e-aansoekprosedure

Indien jy nie 'n geregistreerde personeellid of student is by die Universiteit Stellenbosch nie met jou eie US-gebruikersnaam en unieke wagwoord, volg die US e-aansoekprosedure vir ​​​toegang tot ​​elektroniese dienste op die US kampus (en afkampus).

Nagraadse studente

Doen asseblief aansoek om toelating as nagraadse student op die Universiteit se SUNStudent-aansoekportaal​. Hierdie proses word deur die Universiteit se Toelatingskantoor hanteer.

Navrae oor jou e-aansoek kan gerig word aan die US Kliëntediens​.  

Personeellid / eksterne werkers

Indien jy as US personeellid / eksterne werker nie 'n eie US-gebruikersnaam en -wagwoord het nie, kontak jou departementele administratiewe personeellid of -sekretaresse om 'n Identiteitsrekord op SUNid te voltooi en 'n US-gebruikersnaam te skep, wat deur die Afdeling Informasietegnologie van die Universiteit hanteer word.
Navrae omtrent jou US-gebruikersnaam kan gerig word aan jou departementele sekretaresse.​​​

Nadat bogenoemde prosedure afgehandel is, behoort jy suksesvolle toegang te verkry tot die elektroniese bronne en jou biblioteekrekord, om jou boeke aanlyn te hernu, op die biblioteek se webblad met jou eie US-gebruikersnaam en -wagwoord.
