Discussion rooms and a Virtual meeting room in the Learning Commons are available free of charge for group bookings by SU students and staff during library hours.

Learning Commons E-classroom


E-classroom

The e-classroom in the Learning Commons is primarily used as a client training facility by library staff during library hours. From the second term each year, the room may be booked free of charge by SU staff on certain conditions.

Equipment: Two projectors; lectern with laptop connection; 48 computers with SU-licensed software. See Wireless access.

The discussion table in the Makerspace is available free of charge for group bookings by SU students and staff during the Makerspace opening hours.

Carnegie Research Commons: Seminar and Virtual Meeting Rooms


Carnegie Research Commons

Seminar rooms and a virtual meeting room in the Carnegie Research Commons are available free of charge for masters and doctoral students, academic staff, and researchers. Rooms are open Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:00.

Seminar rooms in the Stellenbosch University Library are available free of charge for group bookings by SU students and staff during library hours. Each room seats about 10 people.

Study cubicles

Study cubicles in the library are available free of charge for individual bookings by SU students and staff during library hours. Each cubicle seats one person only.

Meeting Room


Meeting room

The meeting room (2058) in the library is available free of charge for SU academic and administrative staff and SRC-registered societies during library hours. The room seats 20 people; full-day bookings are discouraged.

Special Collections Meeting Room


Special Collections meeting room

The meeting room (1064) in Special Collections is available Monday-Friday, 08:30-16:15, free of charge for SU students, staff, and visitors. Ideal for small workshops using Special Collections material.

Auditorium


Auditorium

The auditorium has seating for 147 people. It is available free of charge for SU staff and SRC-registered societies (Mon-Fri, 08:00-16:00).

Equipment: Projector, lectern, computer, and BYOD connections. See Wireless access. The auditorium is not suited for hybrid or remote events.

Seminar rooms are available free of charge for SU students and staff during library hours. Not available to external users.

Seminar rooms are available free of charge for group bookings by SU students and staff during library hours. Not available to external users.

Medicine & Health Sciences Library: Digital Commons & E-classroom


Digital Commons

The Digital Commons and E-classroom serve as training and learning spaces. They are used by library staff during library hours, and from the second term are available free of charge for group bookings by SU staff on certain conditions.

Equipment: Projector, lectern, 38 computers with SU software, 6 study booths (4 persons each), plasma screen, BYOD connections. See Wireless access.

Medicine & Health Sciences Library: Teleconference Seminar Room


Teleconference room

A teleconference seminar room in the Research Commons is available free of charge for master’s and doctoral students and staff during library hours.

Medicine & Health Sciences Library: Video Conference Room


Video conference room

The video conference room enables SU postgraduate students and researchers to collaborate nationally and internationally. Available free of charge to SU staff during library hours. Seats 13 people.

Equipment: Polycom system, projector, multiple display screens, touchscreen controls, and BYOD docks. See Wireless access.

Music Library: Listening and Seminar Rooms


Music Library rooms

A listening room and seminar room in the Music Library are available free of charge to Music Department staff and students during Music Library hours.

Equipment: The listening room seats 16 and is fully equipped for audio playback. The seminar room seats 10 and includes projector, TV monitor, and DVD/video equipment.
