NEW STAFF WELCOMED:
ELNA RANDALL
Sien Afrikaans onder
Elna Randall
was appointed as Director: Client Services at the Library and
Information Service from January 2014 and is responsible for all client
service sections of the main library as well as for marketing and
quality assurance. Before coming to Stellenbosch, she was Head of a
Faculty Librarian team at the University of Pretoria's Academic and
Information Service.
Elna
completed her BBibl degree at the University of the Free State and
started her career as librarian at the Provincial Library Services in
Bloemfontein, but shortly afterwards moved to Pretoria where she
continued her library career at the Atomic Energy Corporation.
On 1 July 1986 she started as an Information Specialist at the
University of Pretoria: Academic and Information Service. Before she
became the Head of the Faculty Librarian team for the Faculty of
Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology and Natural
and Agricultural Sciences, Elna also held the position as Head of
Circulation. She completed her Masters degree in 1993. Her research
topic focused on budget formulas for the purchasing of information
resources by university libraries.
The Library staff would like to welcome Elna warmly and wish her all the
best in her new job.

NUWE PERSONEEL
VERWELKOM: ELNA RANDALL
Elna Randall
is vanaf 2 Januarie 2014 as Direkteur: Kliëntediensteaangestel. Sy is
verantwoordelik vir alle kliëntediensafdelings sowel as vir bemarking en
gehalteversekering. Sy was tevore werksaam by Universiteit Pretoria se
Akademiese Inligtingsdiens as hoof van 'n span
fakulteitsbibliotekarisse.
Elna het
haar B.Bibl-graad aan die Universiteit van die Vrystaat voltooi en by
die Provinsiale Biblioteekdiens in Bloemfontein as bibliotekaris begin
werk. Kort daarna het sy na Pretoria verhuis en haar biblioteekberoep by
die Atoomenergiekorporasie voortgesit.
Elna het op
1 Julie 1986 by die Universiteit van Pretoria se Akademiese en
Inligtingsdiens as Inligtingspesialis begin werk. Hier het sy onder
andere die poste van Hoof van Bronverskaffing en spanleier van die
Fakulteite Ingenieurswese, Bou-omgewing en Inligtingtegnologie en
Natuur- en Agriwetenskappe beklee. Sy het in 1993 haar meerstersgraad
voltooi met 'n onderwerp oor begrotingsformules vir die aankoop van
inligtingsbronne by universiteitsbiblioteke.
Die
biblioteekpersoneel verwelkom Elna hartlik en wens haar alles van die
beste toe met haar nuwe pos.
