Kwitansies vir terugbesorgde materiaal

Kwitansiedrukkers is by die JS Gericke Biblioteek

Receipts for returned material

Receipt printers have been installed at the JS Gericke Library in order to provide clients with acknowledgement of receipt of returned books.  Anyone returning material to the JS Gericke Library is thus kindly requested to wait at the issue desk until a receipt for the material has been issued.  It is not desirable for material to be simply left at the issue desk, as it could be mistakenly removed while still remaining the responsibility of the borrower.  The receipt system is aimed at removing disputes that arise when books are allegedly returned but cannot be traced in the library.  In such cases a receipt will incontestably indemnify the client from further responsibility.

Receipts are similarly issued when material is borrowed and have replaced the usual stamping of the date in books.
