Although all of these concepts are indeed related in some way, they cannot be equated with one another, as this would amount to false equivalence. This session aims to clarify the relationship between Open Data and Research Data Management by focusing on the following aspects: Framing Open Data and Research Data Management within the context of Open Science. The quality-management aspects of Research Data Management. The relationship between Research Data Management and the FAIR Data Principles. How we go from Research Data Management to Open Data. Tools for ensuring that Open Data comply with the FAIR Data Principles (this segment will include short practical demonstrations of resources such as Data Stewardship Wizard, SUNScholarData, F-UJI Automated FAIR Data Assessment Tool and the FAIR Evaluator). Writing up your research with integrity – shedding light on the role of Turnitin Presenter: Ms. Alison Bucholz, Senior Skills Development Administrator, Postgraduate Office, Stellenbosch University Time: 10h30 - 11h30 This session will illuminate the key qualities of good academic writing, highlight SU’s policies in support of academic writing integrity, and shed light on utilising Turnitin as a developmental writing tool. Self-care and mental health Presenter: Ms. Elmarie Kruger, Acting Head: Psychotherapeutic Support Services and Senior Counselling Psychologist Time: 11h30 - 12h30 The session will focus on the following: Self reflection and understanding when I am not ok Understanding the impact of stress on me as a person and how I interact with others and the environment Strategies to put into place in order to manage stress and take care of my own wellbeing The goal is to empower individuals to take an active role in their own mental health and well-being
