Library seminar roomsA number of seminar rooms suitable for group discussions, are available in the JS Gericke Library. All students, academic and administrative staff of the University may use the seminar rooms free of charge. The cost of the use of the seminar rooms by external institutions/individuals is R80.00 per hour with a maximum of 8 hours. |
Bookings
| Bookings must be made at the Lending Division of the JS Gericke Library either in person,

Library study cubicles A limited number of study cubicles are rented to full-time honours-, masters- & doctoral students of the University at the JS Gericke Library at a fee of R175.00 per term, R350.00 per semester or R700.00 per calendar year. | Bookings

Library AuditoriumThe auditorium in the JS Gericke Library has seating for 147 people. All bookings must be made well in advance. Academic and administrative staff as well as societies registered with the Students Representative Council may use the auditorium in the JS Gericke Library free of charge. The auditorium is also available to other institutions and members of the public at a fee of R275.00 per hour.
| Bookings | Bookings must be made at the Lending Division of the JS Gericke Library either in person,
e-mail to the Lending desk, JS Gericke library or phone +27 21 808 4883. The keys and wireless lapel microphone of the Auditorium must be collected at and returned to the lending desk of the Library.
| Equipment | Overhead data projector; DVD/Video player; lectern and a computer with Win10 (+MS Office 2016 and all relevant software) as well as CD/DVD drives and USB ports for USB flash disks; and a white board. Internet and wireless access are limited to Stellenbosch University staff and students registered on the University network.
| Rules | Patrons using the auditorium are requested:
- To ensure that the overhead projector and all computer equipment, are switched OFF when leaving the auditorium.
- To lock the auditorium and return the keys ad lapel microphone to the lending desk before leaving the Library.
- Not to move furniture around in the auditoriu, neither to remove furniture from, or the add other furniture to the auditorium.
- Not to smoke or have refreshements in the auditorium.
- Not to put anything up on the walls of the auditorium
- Not to disturb library clients in close proximity of the auditorium.
- To keep the auditorium tidy at all times.
Patrons who fail to comply with these rules will be denied further bookings of the auditorium.
| Refreshments
| Refreshment facilities are not available. Please direct participants to sessions in the auditorium to the Langenhoven Student Centre ("The Neelsie"). Water carafes are available on request. |
