NEW APPOINTMENTS

During the previous few months three new
appointments have been made at the Library and Information Service.
Paulette Taillard was appointed as
Digital Services Librarian from 1 November. She started to work
at the Library and Information Service in 2007 as an Assistant Librarian
at the Circulation Division. From 2010 she worked as e-Repository
Assistant.
Marié Roux was
appointed as Manager: Research Support and Research
Commons from 1 October. She started her career at the Library in
1992, first as Assistant Librarian at the Interlibrary Loans department.
From 2003 she was promoted to Librarian and responsible for Quality
Assurance, Management information and some Library publications. With
the establishment of the Research Commons in 2011, she was also
appointed as Librarian for Research Support and Research Commons.
Samuel Simango
is newly appointed from 1 November as Junior Librarian, Law and
Government Publications. Samuel is a Rhodes University graduate with
a deep interest in the library and information science career,
especially in relation to Law librarianship. He obtained the following
qualifications over the past couple of years: a Bachelor of Social
Sciences (with majors in Economics and Legal Theory), a Bachelor of Laws
(LLB), a Higher Diploma in Taxation and a Master of Commerce in
Accounting (focusing specifically on the Law of Taxation). Apart from
various tax related issues his research interests are legal research
methodology and legal information retrieval. Prior to joining
Stellenbosch University’s library he worked at the Rhodes University
Library as a Library Assistant and as the Acting Law Faculty Librarian.
We warmly congratulate them with their
appointments and wish them all the best with their careers at
Stellenbosch University.

AANSTELLINGS
Gedurende die laaste paar maande is drie
nuwe aanstellings in die Biblioteek-en Inligtingsdiens gemaak.
Paulette Taillard is aangestel as
Digitale Dienste Bibliotekaris vanaf 1 November. Sy het in 2007 by
die Biblioteek- en Inligtingsdiens begin werk as Assistent-Bibliotekaris
by die Bronverskaffing Afdeling. Vanaf 2010 was sy werksaam as 'n
e-Bewaarplek Assistent.
Marié Roux
is aangestel as Bestuurder: Navorsingsondersteuning en
Navorsingsruimte. Sy het haar loopbaan by die Biblioteek begin in
1992, as Assistent-Bibliotekaris by die Interbiblioteeklening Afdeling.
In 2003 is sy bevorder tot Bibliotekaris en was sy verantwoordelik vi
Gehalteversekering, Bestuursinligting en sommige publikasies. Met die
totstandkoming van die Navorsingsruimte in 2011 is sy ook aangestel as
Bibliotekaris vir Navorsingsondersteuning en Navorsingsruimte.
Samuel Simango
is nuut aangestel by die Biblioteek vanaf 1 November 2014 as Junior
Bibliotekaris, Regsgeleerdheid en Staatspublikasies. Hy het gegradueer
by Rhodes Universiteit en het 'n wye belangstelling in die biblioteek-
en inligtingswêreld. Hy het die volgende kwalifikasies bekom gedurende
die afgelope paar haar: 'n B-graad in Sosiale Wetenskappe (met hoofvakke
in Ekonomie en Regsteorie), 'n B-graad in Regte (LLB), 'n Hoër Diploma
in Belasting en 'n Meestersgraad in Rekeningkunde (gefokus op die
regsaspekte van belasting). Bo en behalwe Samuel se belangstelling in
belastingaspekte, is sy navorsings-belangstellings ook gerig op
navorsingsmetodologie en inligtingsherwinning vir Regte. Voorheen het hy
gewerk by Rhodes se Universiteitsbiblioteek as a Biblioteekassistent en
ook afgelos as Regsbibliotekaris.
Ons wens hulle hartlik geluk met hulle
aanstellings en alle voorspoed in hulle nuwe hoedanigheid.
