The Library and Information Service provides the under mentioned services to prospective postgraduate students who applied at Stellenbosch University for admission and received an SU student number. Access
All libraries of the Library and Information Service are accessible to prospective postgraduate students. Access is free of charge, but at the JS Gericke Library and most branch libraries access is subject to positive identification with a valid identification document (photo identification is essential).
Lending privileges
A recommendation form completed and signed by the supervisor of the prospective postgraduate student must be handed in at the lending desk of the applicable library.
Prospective postgraduate students may borrow 15 items for 4 weeks and renew these twice.
Items may be returned to the JS Gericke Library and any branch library.
Reserving of books is free of charge and unlimited. See "How do I reserve a book currently on loan".
Fines for overdue items are charged at 50c per item per day with a limit of R20-00. Borrowing privileges will be suspended when this limit has been exceeded.
The replacement value of lost or damaged items is payable to the Library and Information Service

Facilities are provided at the Read Me Services (RMS) photocopying facility, JS Gericke Library or at the lending desks of the branch libraries.

Interlibrary loans:
Material not available in any of the libraries of the Library and Information Service may be loaned from other libraries in the country or even abroad. For more information go to Interlibrary loans.
Off-campus document delivery:
